Stevo’s Custom Carpentry Business Cards

Some time ago I had a project of redesigning the identity of a company. Choosing the carpentry company my father-in-law owns, I made a logo and new type treatments. I thought I had an article in here on the project, but upon looking I guess not, so I’ll have to write that up sometime.

At any rate, one of the things I’d been wanting to do is make the business cards I had for the new identity in wood. Now that I have access to a laser cutter, I can. The result is pretty good. Laser engraved into 3mm poplar plywood, and in a box also cut and engraved by the laser, they take about 4 minutes each (front and back). Due to some weirdness with Corel they sometimes randomly don’t come out right, but when they do they look good. We’ll be making a whole run for him to use if he so chooses. The per-card cost winds up very low, and a run of 36 or so can fit on a 12″x24″ board that runs about $4.50.

I’ll show the rest of them in another post. For now:
